A small business, two people, one standard.

Where the idea came from.

For years Cedrick drove for other people. Private chauffeur work: someone gives you an address, you collect, you drop off, you do it again until the day ends.

The hours were long and most of what the driving earned stayed with whoever owned the car. He had the trade and the licence. He didn’t have the vehicle.

What if the car was his?

So we bought one. I put up the money from Dublin; Cedrick chose it. He knows cars, and after a few inspections and a lot of negotiating he found the right one at a fair price.

That was April 2026. He drives it, he looks after it, and what it earns stays in the family.

Cedrick Lokomba

Role: Driver
Based in: Kinshasa, RDC

Cedrick Lokomba has driven for CCT since day one. He holds a technical diploma in automotive engineering and has held a full licence for years. Cars have been his thing for as long as anyone in the family can remember.

He knows Kinshasa properly — which avenues to avoid at five, which route to take when it rains, how long the run to N’djili actually takes. He keeps the car clean, turns up on time, and tells you the price before he starts the engine.

He washes and services the car every few days, whether or not anyone is watching. That standard is what CCT is built on: a taxi doesn’t have to feel like just a taxi.

Cedrick isn’t only the driver. He’s the person you meet, and the reputation of the business is built one journey at a time.

Cynthia Ikamba

Role: Founder & operations
Based in: Dublin, Ireland

Cynthia Ikamba left Kinshasa for Ireland around ten years ago and started secondary school in Transition Year without a word of English. She had French to build on and not much else.

She taught herself: newspapers, the radio, French films with English subtitles, books her father brought home. Progress was slow. She failed her mock exams in fifth year and repeated the year on her principal’s advice. She sat her Leaving Certificate, passed most of it, and did not pass English.

The points weren’t there for Human Resources at UCD, so she took another route: a PLC in Business Studies with distinctions in public relations, digital marketing, event production, communications, business administration and desktop publishing, then an advanced aviation certificate in ground and cabin crew operations. TU Dublin accepted her onto a Level 8 degree in Business, Retail and Service Management. She was elected class representative two years running and reached the semi-finals of the Bolton Trust enterprise competition in second year. She is the first in her family to graduate.

In April 2026 she invested in a car in Kinshasa and started CCT with her uncle. From Dublin she handles the bookings, the pricing and the books; Cedrick handles the road. The aim is simple: the business supports the family, and it’s run properly.
